Description

Original air date:  July 20, 2016.  Can You Beat the Odds?  Strategies for Avoiding and Overcoming Section 101 Rejections at the USPTO

Section 101 has become a significant hurdle in the prosecution of software related patent applications.  The legal landscape is continuously evolving as well:  in May and June the Federal Circuit published three opinions discussing subject matter eligibility and the USPTO published two memorandums updating their examination policy. This webinar will examine the recent Federal Circuit cases and USPTO publications, and discuss how practitioners can use these materials to develop strategies for avoiding and overcoming section 101 rejections.  Presented by:  Robert Sachs of Fenwick & West, LLP; Ken Nigon of RatnerPrestia; David Beck or Viavi Solutions Inc.; moderated by Nick Mattingly of Mattingly & Malur.
