Description
Original air date:  9/14/17.  How to handle potential trademark disputes (“Think before sending that C&D Letter”).  A presentation from the Education Committee's Law School Outreach Program Subcommittee's webinar series: From theory to practice:  Connecting the classroom to real life practice.

For such a short document, trademark cease and desist letters are full of risks.  Beside the constant danger of the
potential defendant filing a declaratory judgment action, playing with incomplete facts or interfering with a potential defendant’s customer relationships can result in an unintended lawsuit.  This presentation will provide an overview of trademark dispute do’s and don’ts.  Some recent actions that went viral will be discussed along with strategies to avoid common mistakes.  Speakers:  Matthew Hintz of Lowenstein Sandler LLP ; Angela Dai of Novick, Kim & Lee, PLLC .
