Description
Original air date:  November 17, 2015.  AIPLA's 2015 Revised Model Jury Instructions - An Introduction & Explanation of the Changes

This year has seen some of the most significant changes in patent law in the last century.  The Supreme Court has weighed in on a number of important substantive topics including: patentable subject matter, divided infringement, and inducement.   The Federal Circuit has followed suit in a number of areas, perhaps no more significantly than in the damages arena, as it tries to reign in what it considers “runaway” jury verdicts.  These significant legal changes have been codified in the recently released 2015 version of the AIPLA model jury instructions.  This distinguished panel will discuss the changes that were made to the prior version of rules in the areas of infringement, invalidity, and damages including the case law that undergirds those changes.  As a result, this single CLE will discuss the major patent law changes that have occurred since the last version of the model jury instructions.  You won’t want to miss it.

Presented by:  Peter Ayers of Lee & Hayes; James Lennon of Young Conaway Stagatt & Taylor, LLP; and Jeffrey Mote of Greenberg Traurig; moderated by Robert Mason, Jr., of Womble Carlyle.
