Description

Original air date:  March 24, 2016.  Presented by the Education Committee's Law School Outreach Program Subcommittee series, "From theory to practice:  connecting the classroom to real life practice."

The presentation will address the practical aspects of drafting patent applications. Inventors frequently have trouble defining and describing the novelty of their own inventions. Patent attorneys must help the inventor distill a description that captures the essence of the invention and claims it as broadly as possible. And it all has to happen on a budget. The program will step through the process of drafting a patent application, from client interview through finished document. Pitfalls and cautionary advice will be discussed along the way. Presented by Jonathan Urbanek, Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery, LLP; and Conor Hunt, Fitch Even Tabin & Flannery, LLP.
